MPZ - Meß- und Prüfzentrum Kraftfahrzeugtechnik Alsdorf GmbH was founded in 1996 as the operating company for a new high-tech exhaust and acoustic systems test centre for automotive engineering.

MPZ Building and Measurement Track

The view-protected and certified measurement track for passenger cars and HGV offers possibilities for the realisation of outdoor pass-by-noise measurements according to DIN ISO 362, measurements of interior vehicle noise and analysis of vehicle dynamics. It is designed as endless-loop with approx. 825 m length and 3.6 m width with additional uphill stretches.

With the 1-axial peak chassis dynanometers driving conditions on the road can be performed quickly and accurate via a dynamic mass simulation on test benches. The chassis dynanometers installed at the MPZ are appropriated to vibration and acoustic measurements, to fuel consumption and exhaust measurements as well as functional and durability tests.

The test facilities are built according to the needs of the automotive industry and the locally interested, thus representing a powerful instrument for the promotion of the motor vehicle know-how in the region of Aachen. Thus, major contributions regarding environmental protection and the saving of energy resources were initiated.
