GIF's new Brake Test Bench
GIF - Gesellschaft für
Industrieforschung mbH - in Alsdorf, Germany, has expanded their
Engineering Services by a Brake Testing Department. The capacity of
this new department allows the simulation of heavy duty trucks up to 13 t
axle load or cars up to 300 km/h vehicle speed. Besides the standard
tests with constant brake pressure, constant brake torque, mass
simulation or temperature programmes it is also possible to carry out
step profiles and even high dynamic tests such as the Nürburgring track
simulation. This is carried out with the free programmable test bench
control and data acquisition, well known from the GIF powertrain test
benches. CAN-Bus or FlexRay Bussystems are integrated next to analogue
and digital I/O interfaces. Moreover, GIF operates measuring systems
for high frequency measuring tasks. NVH
tests on complete axle modules or full vehicles can be carried out on
an acoustic chassis dynamometer.
This extensive equipment allows brake testing according to each customer’s requirements in every development phase.
