From the 26th to 28th of September the third CTI-Symposium "Boîtes de vitesses automobiles" took place in the Dorint Airport Paris-Roissy in Paris.
Highlights of the Symposium were
- Engine Management System demands and powertrain improvements
- DCT-concepts and hybrid powertrain advancements
- New realisations of transmission shift control for automatic transmissions
- Transmission capacity (clutch, materials and acoustics) optimisation
- Powertrain and transmission system integration.
On the 27th and the 28th of September lectures were given on the aforementioned highlights. In his lecture "Cone Ring Transmission for Conventional and Hybrid Powertrains" Dr. Jan Schlipf, GIF Managing Director, reported the newest development of the Cone Ring Transmission as well as the perspectives of the transmission application in hybrid powertrains.
GIF as the leading engineering service provider for transmissions presented itself in cooperation with Romax Technology Ltd. Numerous requests concerning business activities were answered at the booth. The operating mode of the Cone Ring Transmission was illustrated based on a model for interested visitors. Furthermore, contacts to the French automotive industry were picked up and deepened.
