General

GIF operates a view protected measurement track for passenger cars and HGV. The track is certified for pass-by-noise (PBN) measurements according to DIN ISO 362. It offers options for the following tasks:

PBN-measurements according to DIN ISO 362
In-vehicle noise measuring
Sound-engineering
Analyses of powertrain NVH
Analyses of vehicle dynamics
Uphill starting and creeping tests.

Technical Description

The measurement track is designed as an endless loop with approx. 825 m length and 3.6 m width. The straight centre lane results in terminal loops with a 30° curve banking. This allows a drive through vehicle speed of 70 km/h.

The certified measuring station for PBN measurements is designed for heavy-duty truck requirements. The pavement according to DIN 10844 and the anechoic area with a radius of 50 m allows for PBN measurements according to DIN ISO 362.

The measurement track is protected via a 5.5 m high barrier. Thus, secret prototype tests can be performed.
